FAQs

How long does a session last? All sessions last 60 mins. The first session will be a combination of consultation, evaluation, and treatment so there will be slightly less treatment than in following sessions.

Does it hurt? No, it doesn’t hurt. MFR is a gentle form of treatment, though it can feel intense. The technique of MFR starts gentle and light, and waits until the body softens and allows it to go deeper - never forcing, never injuring.

Can you fix me in one session? The simple answer is no! You might feel some improvement after one session and you can certainly get a feel for the technique but this is not a ‘Quick Fix’ form of therapy - there really is no such thing!

How many sessions will I need to get rid of my pain? Every body is unique so there is really no easy answer to this question. Typically, if you have been experiencing pain and dysfunction for many months or even years it will take more sessions than if you come with a new injury.

How often should I see you? To start with, I prefer to see people a minimum of once a week, perhaps tapering off to less frequently after we see significant improvement. If you have more severe, debilitating pain, or you just want to see faster results more frequent sessions, maybe 2-3 times a week at first will have a greater effect. You can come less frequently, you just will likely need to stay in treatment for longer overall.

How much does it cost? My single-session rate is $180. I do offer multi-session discounted packages.

Do you take insurance? No. I do not take health insurance or Medicare. I do take HSA and FSA cards. I am considered an ‘out-of-network’ provider so if you wish to submit for reimbursement/deductible yourself, I can give you a detailed statement called a superbill that may be accepted but I cannot guarantee that.

How can I find an MFR therapist near me? While I do have clients who drive a long way to see me, you can also search for an MFR therapist near you. Perhaps you want to recommend MFR to a family member or friend who lives in another city/state. Visit the MFR Therapist Directory at www.mfrtherapists.com to find a great therapist near you or in many cities around the U.S. and Canada.
